Hi, I'm Alex
Project manager. Parent. Expat living in Springfield, United States.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary contract gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Began
Moving to United States wasn’t part of the plan I had mapped out for the future. Like many international relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The initial few months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, and higher expectations. Routine tasks seemed more complex than they ought to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, doubt, and a great deal of learning on the go. Gradually, habits took shape. We found places that fit our needs, connected with other families, and began crafting something that felt steady.
Why I Built BexdavAvelNorvRen
Most online content consisted of corporate relocation guidance or shallow travel material. What was lacking was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical advice drawn from real-life experiences in United States.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site IS:
- Practical knowledge arising from living in United States
- Centered on family life and everyday realities
- Updated whenever a genuine change occurs
This site ISN'T:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- Not a sponsored review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in United States continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Springfield or anywhere in United States, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Cheers,
Alex
